Santosa
- Santosa means contentment within. The changes brought about by
yoga and birth lead us on an exploration of our essence, and help
us find self-acceptance and growth. When we relax into our body's
being, we discover the bliss of our own breath, consciousness, energy,
and creation.
Kristin Sasser: RYT. CTB. CD (DONA)
- Kristin Sasser is a certified yoga therapist, labor-support doula,
prenatal fitness and yoga teacher, and Thai-massage bodyworker.
She has been assisting expectant mothers psychologically, emotionally,
and physically since 1998. Kristin is the director of Santosa
Yoga & Birth which specializes in "yoga birthing"
techniques for labor. She teaches ongoing yoga courses and workshops
for mothers and partners in the New York City and Brooklyn areas.
As well, Kristin is actively pursuing her Master's Degree in Psychology,
which includes research linking child behaviour to birth experiences
and attachment patterns of infants to parents. Kristin is also an
artist who uses body-oriented mediums to cultiivate healing and
community for women.
Hatha
& Prenatal Yoga - Santosa Yoga offers several classes
per week. These classes create an environment where our essence
and self acceptance grow. When we relax into our bodies truth, we
discover the bliss of our own breath, consciousness, and energy.
